Feb 20: Project 2 Begin: Increasing longterm thinking: Viewing of representative videos, including Rainforest, on issue of long term versus short term thinking by human beings. Consideration of the psychological problems involved in changing attitudes and behaviors, and of various interrelated areas where longterm thinking is essential.
Feb. 27: Discussion of project 2 with reference to project 3 and analysis of Water in the home, an example of earlier multimedia project to address long term thinking. Team work on Project 2. Discussion of the role and priority of longterm thinking in current curricula.
Mar 6: Brief presentation of several other multimedia works designed to address long term thinking, viewing of part of Americas video on population, and discussion of the global curriculum, and its role in addressing this issue of longterm thinking. Final in-class work on Project 2. Project 2 End assignments due first class after spring break.
Mar 11: spring vacation
Mar 18: Project 3 Begin: Building a Teachers College based Web Page on the Emerging Global Curriculum. An overview of the goals of project 3, including the level of multimedia completion required. Discussion of the relation between Projects 2 and 3. Formation of new teams for Project 3 work.
