ILT's Professional Development staff works with teachers and school leaders (K-12, college, and afterschool) to develop a practice that is responsive to the redefined educational needs of the 21st century. We assist educational professionals as they design lesson strategies that guide student inquiry in settings that encourage student initiative, persistence, and creativity in a process that leads to deeper understanding.
ILT's professional development initiatives emphasize activities and investigations that:
- Offer educators opportunities to work and learn together, exchange ideas, share successes and failures, and find solutions to mutual problems.
- Encourage teachers to move from the "sage on the stage" to the "guide on the side."
- Provide strategies that enable teachers to monitor, evaluate, and decide which classroom strategies fit their needs.
