HarlemLive

HarlemLive is an on-line news journal that gives the youth of New York City an opportunity to have their voices heard on a worldwide platform. The students are trained in Journalism, Web Design, Video Production, etc. It allows students to showcase their talents for a global audience using cutting edge Internet technologies. Through HarlemLive the youth develop a network of support in various aspects of their lives and they improve their ability to communicate effectively. We aim to provide the youth of Harlem with great prospects for the future.

HarlemLive members produce a World Wide Web-based multimedia news journal that covers political, cultural, historical, and community issues and events of note in Harlem communities. The journal includes: news stories, editorials, movie, music and theater reviews, poetry; and interviews with prominent and interesting people.

HarlemLive is searching for interns who are equally willing to learn as they are to share what they know. The HarlemLive environment is dynamic, energetic and constantly changing. Successful interns are those who are aggressive and seize educational opportunities as they present appear.

Interns placed at HarlemLive can participate in various activities our organization. These activities can range from assisting teenagers in the production of our Web site to helping with organizational development and curriculum planning. HarlemLive is primarily an after school program but there are high school interns that are present during the typical school day.
