The PDS Technology Integration Project

This research and development initiative seeks to enhance
the capacity of the TC Professional Development School (PDS)
partnership to integrate technology into school and university
curricula in ways that support the instructional capacity
of new, novice and experienced teachers to use technology
to prepare all students to achieve high standards.
To assist the elementary school partners to integrate technology,
the project engages participants in varies professional development
opportunities. These opportunities are most often held at
the school site and include various formats monthly study
groups, one-to-one staff development, conferences, and online
courses. The topics of these sessions are centered on facilitating
teachers inquiry about technology in their classroom. Teachers
learn technical skills necessary to integrate technology into
their curriculum.
The National Center for Restructuring Education, Schools
and Teaching (NCREST) collaborated with the District 3/Teachers
College PDS Partnership and the Center for Technology and
School Change on the PDS Technology Integration Project are
partners in this endeavor which was launched in the spring
of 99. This project is part of a larger national project coordinated
by the National Institute of Community Innovations (NICI)
and funded by the US Department of Education. The participating
school-based PDS partners include four elementary PDSs in
the District 3/TC Partnership-PS 191, 87, 165 and 207.
Internship pays 3 credits and a stipend.
