"I suppose the first thing I should discuss is why I took
this internship with Stromberg Consulting, and what I hoped
to gain from it. My degree is in Computing and Education,
and I am in my final semester. My coursework has been interesting
enough, but I felt that I wasn't given as much opportunity
to practically apply what I learned about instructional technology
and the interactions between people and computers. Also,…I
wanted a little more focus on the corporate side…So I decided
that getting an internship would be a great way to balance
out my coursework with practical experience in a corporate
setting…
I believe I learned a lot from this internship. I was exposed
to the entire planning process that is important in the development
of a website. Although it wasn't technically an educational
or web-based training site, it was still a site that had to
be carefully thought out…
I think one of the most important things I got out of this
experience was learning how to work in a very different culture
and environment that I am typically used to…Of course, I didn't
expect everyone to adjust to me. I still did my best to adjust
on my own, but it was reassuring to know that my supervisor
and coworkers understood where I was coming from."
