Michael Swart is a NSF Doctoral Research Fellow and Ph.D. student in the Cognitive Studies in Education program at Teachers College Columbia University. He has worked as a graphic artist, a photographer, a musician, a filmmaker and an educator. Principally, Michael is interested in the role our bodies play in our cognitions, the integration of the arts into core curriculum and the fostering of creativity. He received a B.A. in Cognitive Science and a B.A. in Psychology, both with distinction from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and completed his M.A. in Cognitive Studies from Teachers College Columbia University.
