Yaoli Mao (Moiren) is a Masters student in Cognitive Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from East China Normal University in Shanghai, China. Before coming to Teachers College, she worked in industrial design and advertising for a while designing usability experiments and planning products.
Her research interests include distributed/embodied cognition, spatial thinking; cognitive ethnography and human factors; game mechanisms; information seeking and search strategies.
Currently she works on TCCS coding and Action to Abstraction that examine impacts of different embodiment types on visuospatial thinking and systematic thinking.
